Quinton: Animals are not human beings

Animals are not human beings and as such are not under the same rules. If a society wanted to give animals equal rights to humans they could but I don't see this happening. Animals are not able to practice self-ownership the way humans are. Animals are more like a child than an adult. The vast majority of people love animals and in no way are in favor of harming animals. Those same people are generally okay with killing animals in a quick and painless way for food. If large companies are hurting animals in a way that people don't like they don't have to support the business anymore. If they are unsure they can have the company audited to see how they treat their animals. If the company doesn't want to be audited then this would probably be a reason to stop using them. Companies would follow checks by 3rd party businesses that qualify the level of violence they use on their animals.
